This is where the LILO bootloader looks for kernels and the "map" file is
uses at boot-time to locate the kernel images. At bootloader-install-time,
i.e. when you run "lilo", this is where lilo looks for bootsector images,
backups, the config file, etc. cLIeNUX is a bit non-standard here also,
with "loader" and "kernel" subdirectories.

As yet another added attraction of cLIeNUX, I have a doodad in inittab
to put a copy of the kernel boot messages in here, because they are
in a finite buffer that the kernel uses for any text output, so if you
want to preserve your boot message, well, in cLIeNUX it's /boot/messages.
/boot/prompt is the lilo prompt message.
