I went with PForthl this time instead of GForth because I found the
code more manageable than GForth for inserting all the syscalls.
PForthl is what you get as the "forth" command.
This is because PForth is simpler, probably slower, and resembles
JForth for the Amiga, which Burk was part of and which was my first
decent Forth. PForth has a nice Forth tutorial also. see forth.

Both have some things I find annoying, however. Somehow the masterful
Ertl, Paysan and Burk all like locals. *boggle*. I have an eforth
with 160 syscalls also but it doesn't seem to have much of a files
OR blocks interface. Yet.

The ../source directory here is a collection of Forth sourcecode.
Portability is subjective. I've stuck a few things in here I find
interesting. They may not load as-is. The VGA/XGA/MCA stuff I did
in GForth will be there probably, for example.

H3sm is my 3-stack Forth-like language. It resembles some of
(the author of Forth) Chuck Moore's hardware designs as far as
thier address register. H3sm has an address stack. I like to think
it's post-Forth.

If Thomas Novelli releases the version of RETRO he's working on now
before cLIeNUX 1.3 goes to the ftp site you may find a bootable
Forth-based OS in here too. C'mon Tom!
