How we'll do audio is pretty definitive of what colorgaPC is about. A
fairly fancy "metabeeper" is possible on basically any PC as a sort of
virtual device using the kludgy hardware of the PC. colorgaPC additionally
requires an AT to use the NMI clock for the audio data bitstreamer.

This dir then is a virtual layer on hardware residing elsewhere in the
source tree, or code dependant on other device code.

colorgaPC will use the port 0x61 gate bit on the beeper speaker as a
one-bit resolution audio signal. This is port B of the keyboard
controller, pg. 737 in Mesmer. We can get the system default and the only
bit that will change in colorgaPC is bit 1, the beeper amp gate bit. That
probably has a pretty snappy time resolution, being just a couple latches
or whatever. That gates the PIT 1 timer 2, which is normally used for easy
squarewaves. We'll set that to a monoflop or something that stays high.
Thus the audio data pulse can just write one of two preset byte values for
1 or 0 into -0x61 and IRET. It's a send instruction, IO, but that's not
too bad a hit. The pulse will also have to do some bitshifting.

This may give us some oversampling tricks, like volume control via
ultrasonic bitrates.

The pulserate will be the audio data rate. The cycluphone engine needs to
know what that is. It can be pretty high. 1.18mhz is the max. Divide from
there. You can go arbitrarily fast with CPU timing, but how fast you
donno. 1.18mhz is hot-known.

Thus the best audio you can assume you can get out of _ANY_ PC is cobbled
up from ...
one bit in a port in the keyboard controller
a preset of a timer, PIT 1, timer 2 of 0,1,2 to ALWAYS HIGH
your own external timing controls and data for the above

colorgaPC will use the NMI clock, PIT2, timer 0 for the
basic audio bitrate. The Ha3sm "pulse". That's
			AT or better, actually.
data will be computed on a period from PIT 0, timer 0, the
			Ha3sm "jiffy"
data will be effected by keyboard state

Note that even in a canonical I B M P C, the beeper is THE LOWEST-LEVEL
operator feedback, giving crucial info before POST. This suggests that a
basic metabeeper should be relatively easy to get some noise out of early
on.
