INSTALLATION NOTES
==================

You must install zlib before compiling E-scape.
It should be available at either of
ftp://ftp.uu.net/graphics/png
ftp://ftp.uu.net/pub/archiving/zip/zlib

OffiX provides Drag-n-Drop support. You need to install it before compiling
E-scape if you want Drag-n-Drop support.  It's on ftp.x.org in /contrib
somewhere (FIXME where?), and the homepage is at
http://cnj.digex.net:80/~pcks/OffiX

The file INSTALL documents the general procedure for installing any GNU
program.

Be aware that E-scape probably won't work if you run it in the build
directory; you must use `make install'. This is because it depends
on a program which must be installed in libexecdir.

REPORTING BUGS
==============

Someday, the sky will be blue, the grass green, and it will be
a beautiful day and everything will be perfect. Debuggers will edit our
source for us, courts won't exist, and we'll be in Heaven.

Until that happens, I expect that I'll get bug reports...

If a certain URL doesn't work correctly, please send me the URL and
describe the problem. If you merely say that the page looks wrong, and
the problem is that the text is supposed to be flashing, but you don't
tell me that you expect flashing text, I won't think that there is
any problem. Incidentally, flashing text is one bug in Netscape that
I want to remove from E-scape. If you truely think that flashing text
is a good thing, feel free to let me know, but don't be surprised if
I ignore you. [Wasn't that cool? I explained a feature I left out
and how to send bug reports in the same paragraph. Two birds with
one stone.]

If you have problems compiling on a particular platform, please send
me the output of `make'. Usually, I only need the output from the
particular file that fails, but don't be overzealous in trimming
context.

Please send bug reports to e-scape-bugs@gnu.ai.mit.edu
