If the \POLAR qualifier is used, the input vectors, x and y,
are assumed to represent polar coordinates, where x contains the radial components and
y contains the angular components, in degrees. The polar coordinates are transformed to
rectangular coordinates before plotting, but the vectors x and y are returned
unchanged.
