                                  HTML2POP3
                               ---------------
                       By Matteo Baccan (www.baccan.it)
                    --------------------------------------

HTML2POP3 is a virtual POP3, SMTP and NNTP server.

All these protocols are virtualized with HTTP comunication, this
means that you can connect with a real POP3 server that get
all your commands and call a remote HTTP server, get the information
you need and transform it in valid POP3 reply.

These tecnique is expanded to all the protocol emulated by HTML2POP3

POP3:
  1) virtualize some HTTP Webmail giving a real POP3 interface
  2) offer a POP3 tunneling to any real POP3 server
  3) Support RSS to POP3 automatic conversion

SMTP:
  1) offer a SMTP tunneling to any real SMTP server

NNTP:
  1) Emulate a NNTP server using google newsgroup

All server are plugin based, for extend in an easy way the functionalities
of the program

All the program is open source, and java written.

Opensource server side component are written in php

    or
Login : any_mail@aggregator

Password: all
   or
Password: RSS_ALIAS_IN_RSS.CFG
   or

Port : 110, or the port used

One sample

Login   : rss;
Password: jobcrawler.it
Server : localhost
Port : 110

where jobcrawler.it is an alias in rss.cfg

Tunneling with generic POP3 plugin
----------------------------------
If you want you can use a HTTP tunneling to comunicate with your POP3
remote server

Login : pop3;your_login;pop3_server[;pop3_port[;php_page_server]]
Password: your_password
Server : localhost, or the address where is HTML2POP3
Port : 110, or the port used

This plugin call, with HTTP protocol, baccan.it, that call remote
POP3 server with POP3 protocol. Get result, and give an HTTP reply
to remote client.

ATTENTION: you can use a different server and dont' use baccan.it for
tunneling, putting PHP server pages included in HTML2POP3 to anoter
server and configurating php_page_server in a different way

Sample

Login : pop3;your_email@email.it;popmail.email.it
Password: your_password
Server : localhost, or the address where is HTML2POP3
Port : 110, or the port used

Login : pop3;your_email@katamail.it;mail.katamail.com
Password: your_password
Server : localhost, or the address where is HTML2POP3
Port : 110, or the port used

Login : pop3;your_email;pop.mail.yahoo.it
Password: your_password
Server : localhost, or the address where is HTML2POP3
Port : 110, or the port used

SMTP tunneling
==============
To use SMTP tunneling you must configure HTML2POP3 in this way

Server SMTP : localhost, or the address where is HTML2POP3
Port SMTP : 25, or the port used

Now you can use local SMTP server and send mail.
HTML2POP3 get the mail and send in HTTP to baccan.it, that send it
with SMTP protocol to a remote server for delivery.

You can also choise the remote SMTP server to use
For do this you must add autentification to SMTP connetion

Login : smtp;your_smtp_login;your_smtp_server[;smtp_port[;php_page_server]]
Password: password

In this way baccan.it send SMTP using your_smtp_server
If you dont want to use baccan.it, you can put PHP pages included in HTML2POP3
on your preferred HTTP server and change php_page_server to use this server

Sample

smtp;your_email@virgilio.it;smtp.virgilio.it

smtp;your_email@virgilio.it;smtp.virgilio.it;25;http://YOUR_SERVER/php_page/

Virtual NTTP server
===================
For use NNTP use these setting

Server NNTP : localhost, or the address where is HTML2POP3
Port NNTP : 119, or the port used

Now HTML2POP3 will be a real NNTP server

When client ask for group list, HTML2POP3 return the groups inside

nntp.cfg

This file may edited and expanded
When a group is asked

GROUP nome_del_gruppo

HTML2POP read google groups page for give a valid message list
All pages are cached to

nntpcache\group_name

This allow to speed the connection
All message are numbered and the associaton number-message_id is saved in

nntpcache\group_name\id-cache.cache

This allow to have an incremental download of NNTP message
