--- Please send bug reports or and feedback back to us :-) ---

This is testing version. It is more less possible to make it
running on Linux, MacOS X and Windows

-- Requirements --
Libraries:
 - OpenGL
 - OpenAL http://openal.org/ (alut allready included in our sources)
 - ODE http://ode.org/
We recommend ODE to be compiled with
   ./configure --enable-double-precision --enable-release
but works even without :-) But result not guaranteed :-)
 - SDL http://www.libsdl.org/
 - SDL_image http://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_image/
 - SDL_mixer http://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_mixer/
 - SDL_ttf http://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_ttf/
 - freetype http://www.freetype.org/ (because of SDL_ttf)
 - omniORB 4.X http://omniorb.sourceforge.net/
 - CEGUI http://www.cegui.org.uk/ (latest mk2 - means version 0.5.0 at least )

Hardware:
 - graphic card with OpenGL acceleration and at least
   4 texture units

-- Compilation --
Linux:
 make -s -k depend
 make idl
 make -s

// If you have wrong version of omniorb, use command 'make idl' to fix it.
// for sure it is directly written in "quick howto"

Windows:
 VisualStudio 2005 required

MacOSX: Experimental and currently only server works
 make -s -f Makefile.MacOSX
We have problems with making CEGUI work.

-- Configuration --
You may try to alter configuration by editing config/bjs.conf.xml
there is a lot of comments there so you will probably be able to
do it :-) You may probably want to alter resolution or disable
the sound :-)
Now it is possible to do it from menu, but for example resolution
switching on Windows doesn't work and restart is needed (and you
lost your config while restarting :-)

-- Starting the game --
The gamme has a comfortable GUI for connecting to the server from menu. Also
it is possible to start server from menu just by clicking.
For showing servers on local network list box with servers running on local
network is probably the best solution.
If you are a linux user and you have an xterm you may start the server and
client at once just by using
./run.sh
But it is not needed any more.

-- Playing --

Your task is to drive your tank and kill all other tanks :-)
Controls:
 arrows - movement
 aswd - movement
f,g,h - new tank (different type)
e - prefered tank (from ingame menu)
 m - observer (spectator) movement
 space - fire
 left mouse - fire
middle mouse - free camera mode
 wheel - weapon change
 ` - dropdown console
1,2,3,4 - weapons (weapon 3 is available only after picking certain bonus)
 p - pause
k - sucide (if you get stuck with your tank)
tab - show statistic (kill, deaths,...)
 f1-f4 - camera positions
 escape - ingame menu

For more advanced users may want to take a look at 'data/defaultkeybind.txt'
and define your own key binding if you want to.
You may also redefine the keybind in menu.

-- Commands and console --

For description of console commands please see 'console_commands.txt'

The console may be drop down by ` on client or you may write
to server's text window - yes the window where it writes all log.

For some commands you may need to get admin privileges on server.
The server has password and using the passwod you may prove that
you are an admin. The default one is 'bjs'. So just type into console
on clinet

/wannabeadmin bjs

And you are an admin. Or if you type into server window you allready
admin are and you don't need to do this.
If you start server from menu you will also get admin rights.

-- Still confused? --

Do you have some problems with running the game? Please don't be shy and
ask for help. We have a users mailing list where we listen to you.
the address is bjs-users <at> sourceforge.net and you may subscribe
to it. If unsure how to do, please write directly to some email here around :-)

-- You may help --

If you want, you may help us :) Event if you don't have any special skills
we would appreciate if you could give us some feedback. What you (don't) like
in the game or some ideas for future development like what you would like
to see in the game. Your voice IS important for us :)
Of course we love BUG reports :-)

-- Final notes --

We certanly hope you all enjoy the show and please remember people
that no matter who you are and what you do to live ... and survive. There are still some
things that make as all the same. You. Me. Them. Everybody. Everybody....
