QPONG
=====

This is a Qt/Q implementation of the famous arcade game.

You can run this script right here as 'q qpong.q'. (When using Emacs, load the
script, type Ctrl-C Ctrl-C and evaluate the 'main' function. Similarly, in
Qpad type F9, then evaluate 'main'.)

You can also install the game as an executable program by running 'sudo make
install', which will copy this file and the accompanying .ui file to the Q
application directory (usually /usr/local/share/q/apps/qpong) and create a
symbolic link to the program under /usr/local/bin (you can change the
installation prefix, e.g., with 'sudo make install prefix=/usr' to install
under /usr instead). After installation, the program can be invoked as just
'qpong' (provided that the <prefix>/bin directory is on your PATH).

Once the game is running, have a look at the demo and read the on-screen
instructions. You can start a new game with Alt+N, pause/resume with Alt+P and
exit the program with Alt+Q. The cursor up and down keys move the player's
paddle (on the right). As with most pong implementations, you have a certain
amount of control over the direction the ball will take by hitting it with the
edges of the paddle. You win a game if you score 10 points before your
computer opponent. The difficulty (a.k.a. AI strength) and ball speed can be
adjusted with the corresponding spinboxes. These settings are remembered
across invokations.

Enjoy! :)
