Qt/Q - The Q Qt Interface
==== = === = == =========

Please refer to the INSTALL file for installation instructions.

This is a SWIG-generated wrapper of the SmokeQt library for the Q programming
language, which provides access to most of Trolltech's Qt GUI toolkit (and
KDE, depending on the implementation). This release requires Qt3 (a port to
Qt4 is on the TODO list). You'll also need Q 7.8 (or later), available from
http://q-lang.sf.net.

Qt (http://trolltech.com) and KDE (http://www.kde.org) are huge libraries.
SmokeQt is a generic C++ interface which makes it *much* easier to interface
to Qt and KDE, especially in the context of interpreted, dynamically typed
scripting languages. SmokeQt was originally developed for PerlQt, see
http://perlqt.sourceforge.net, and is now also being used for other scripting
languages like Ruby, see http://rubyforge.org/projects/korundum.

Note that this interface is still experimental, so expect some bugs.
Documentation also needs to be written, but you can find a fairly extensive
description of the major functions provided by this module in the interface
file smokeqt.q. You should also consult the Qt3 documentation available on
http://doc.trolltech.com for details about the C++ API functions.

A few examples are included in the sources, see examples/*.q. (These will be
installed in <prefix>/share/q/examples/qt.)

Enjoy! :)
