Notes on the MacAnova Users' Gude and Reference Manual

Files manual/manxxxxx.pdf are Acrobat PDF files containing the edition
of the MacAnova Users' Guide for Version 4.07. These are viewable using
Acrobat Reader (free from Adobe http://www.adobe.com).

This manual replaces all previous manuals although virtually all that is
in the manuals for versions 4.04 and 4.06 is still correct. It includes
information on all features and enhancements as of August 28, 1998

PLEASE NOTE: while much of the information in the Users' Guide is
still applicable, appendices B through F are woefully out of date for
MacAnova version 5.00 and later.

Here is a list of the available files with indications as to what they
cover.

start it up after downloading a PDF filed. Most browsers know that they
must be downloaded in binary mode.

We welcome comments and corrections on the Users' Guide.

Like almost all user manuals that make some pretense at providing a
comprehensive description of a complex program, this one can be heavy
going for those with no previous MacAnova experience. For such novices,
as well as for those who have not used MacAnova for a while, there is a
less complete but more accessible document, An Introduction to MacAnova,
(revised December 2000). The Introduction is about 60 pages with many
examples that gives the basics and gets up up and running, but leaves out
many of the details and advanced features. The Introduction is up-to-date
as of release 2 of MacAnova 4.12.

Finally, there is a MacAnova Reference Manual (reference.pdf). The
reference is a reformatting of the information available via the help()
command. This reference is up to date.
