                              Introduction

MacAnova is distributed under the terms of the GNU Public License,
Version 2. See file Copying.txt distributed with MacAnova. The latest
versions of MacAnova may be obtained over the Internet from its home page
   http://www.stat.umn.edu/macanova/

You can get documentation and source code there as well.

See file Readme.txt for information on documentation and starting MacAnova.

Copying.txt and Readme.txt are installed automatically with MacAnova.

A standard MacAnova installation includes various auxiliary files,
mainly help and macro files and one program file.

                        What Files Do You Need?

MacAnova for Mac OS X comes as a disk image. The disk image contains
a MacAnova program bundle, a folder with pdf documentation, and a folder
with html help files. Simply drag the contents of the disk image to
some convenient place on your hard drive. Please note: the MacAnova
program bundle contains its own copy of the html help files, but they
are a little tricky to access unless you are a bit of a OS X guru.

                        Downloading from the Web

Start at the download page www.stat.umn.edu/macanova/downloadmac.html.
Then follow the links to the desired platform.

                       What to Do After Installation

Once you've copied MacAnova to your disk, you don't need to keep
the disk image.

The installers that install the CP will also register three extensions:
.mvsave for MacAnova save files, .mvbat for MacAnova batch files, and
.mvout for MacAnova output files. Double clicking on any files with
these extensions should start Windows MacAnova (and restore the save file,
run the batch file, and/or display the output file).

Cygwin1.dll, MacAnova.ico, Cour14.fnt, and Cwsdpmi.exe are loaded into
the directory you selected with the installer. Beneath that directory
is another directory called SharedSupport. Inside of SharedSupport go
all of the macro and help files. Also inside SharedSupport is a docs
directory, with two subdirectories pdf and html. Inside of pdf go
all of the pdf manuals. Inside of html go all of the html help files.

Happy Computing!
